Miyawaki Native Forest
We believe in delivering sustainable, efficient, professional and equitable solutions to green cover management. One of the most effective and sustainable methods that we have operationalized in Aurangabad and beyond is planting and nurturing Miyawaki Native Forests in appropriate locations.
The Miyawaki Method Native Dense Forest- a modern plantation method used for afforestation- is developed by Japanese ecologist Dr. Akira Miyawaki. It is aimed at creating a forest equivalent to a 100 year indigenous forest within 10 years. In practice, the soil is amended for optimal growth outcomes, a large variety of native species are selected, saplings are spaced very close to induce competition and mulch is used to conserve soil moisture and suppress weed growth. The Miyawaki technique is based on natural principles for strong and fast growth leading to a mature self sustaining forest.
EcoSattva has diverse projects and clients ranging from government bodies focused on increasing green cover, to corporate clients wanting to invest CSR funds to impact the environment positively.
Green Schools Mission
The Green Schools Mission is born out of a need to scale the positive impacts of the Miyawaki Method through effective, equitable and efficient use of resources. The mission aims to create Miyawaki Method Native Dense Forests across 100 sites in schools and institutions in Aurangabad (rural) to build green-lungs for the schools and villages, as well as to comply with the Green Maharashtra Mission - Harit Maharashtra Abhiyan.
